Access to Child & Elder Care

Independent households have a right to easy access to affordable and high-quality dependent care. Primary caretakers of children and elderly family members frequently take on the responsibility of all care. Access to outside dependent care allows the primary caregiver to have a job and accomplish critical daily tasks outside of the home. Access to care is often unaffordable and takes a large portion of income. The sole responsibility of care can take a toll on the primary caregiver, physically and psychologically.
