Planet + Purpose Solutions is a women-led public benefit corporation that consults with organizations to design, launch, and implement sustainability initiatives. Lia Colbello launched PPS in 2017 with a background in international ocean conservation, leveraging her extensive experience with fighting plastic pollution and her vast network in single-use plastics policy and alternatives to reduce environmental impact. Since then, they’ve worked in the outdoor, fishing, pet, sports, beauty and wellness industries, as well as non-profit organizations, cultural institutions and municipalities. 

One of their bigger consulting projects came from a business community close to Colbello -- they worked with the Aquarium Conservation Partnership, a coalition of 22 aquariums across the U.S., to significantly reduce and eliminate single-use plastic in their retail, dining and overall operations, as well as inspiring their local business communities to join them in taking action against plastic pollution. You may have seen some of this work out of our own South Carolina Aquarium!

We also want to highlight the collaborative steps Planet + Purpose Solutions took to be holistically climate-friendly. Working with Be Climate Neutral, Planet + Purpose Solutions became officially “Climate Neutral Certified” in spring of 2020. They’re currently improving their office building’s energy efficiency and have developed a travel policy encouraging sustainable travel methods. They’re a proud member of 1% for the Planet, looking to push environmental giving forward.
