The Junction

As the name suggests, The Junction Kitchen & Provisions provides a place for community members to refuel. It's a breakfast and brunch spot located in Park Circle, North Charleston. Kimana Littleflower created the establishment in 2014 out of a desire for a community-driven all-day breakfast spot serving the needs of food and beverage industry workers who typically start their day in the afternoon. She also looks to center quality of life in her staff with a quasi-therapeutic working environment. “If you are happy, healthy, and whole, then the people around you are going to be happy, healthy, and whole,” Kimana said.

The Junction employs a host of sustainable practices as part of their mission for community responsibility. Using compostable to-go wear, they reduce the amount of waste piling up in our local landfill. Kimana educates her chefs and staff on the importance of reducing waste and maintaining a connection to their work and one another. Their coffee bar features unique mugs facilitating less single-use plastic consumption and promoting conversation and community. Supporting sustainable agriculture, The Junction sources their farm fresh eggs from Wishbone Heritage Farms and leafy greens from our climate-minded friends at Vertical Roots.

As a restaurant owner, Kimana believes that having easier access to resources for composting, recycling, and local produce is vital to the health of Charleston - we at CCC agree. Recognizing the importance of nourishing each other, doing their part to mitigate climate change, and building unity through community.

Looking ahead, Kimana has purchased a food trailer with hopes of mobilizing their operation. Her goal is to begin catering events and serving guests in the parking lot of their business on those busy weekends. Keep your eyes peeled for this new addition to the Junction family!
