Give Me Green Recap & Resources

Our first sustainable fashion show was a huge success. Scroll through this email to find photos from the evening, links to the participating designers, and action items to get more involved in the slow fashion movement.

The show featured 11 local designers and curators who are part of our Lowcountry Clothing Shops for Climate Action Alliance. Below you can find links to their shops to learn more about them! Billy Thrift, Riciclare by Livasey, Closet Case Thrift, High Tied Dyes, Cassie’s Shop, Portal, True Lucia, Maude Couture, Local Love CHS, Farside Vintage, & Open Road Vintage Co.

A huge thank you to our photographers, April Williams and Maggie Wilcox, for capturing these magical moments.

Action Items

  • Go to Pickers Hullabaloo this Sunday the 27th - it’s Charleston’s most funkadelic flea market!

  • Get involved with the Naked Lady Society - they’re a local nonprofit that hosts free clothing swaps! Trade items this Saturday the 26th at Closet Case Thrift.

  • Check out Good On You - they’re a good source for brand ratings, articles, and expertise on ethical and sustainable fashion.

THANK YOU

Thanks to all who came out to support us. Shout out to our volunteer make-up artists, Sydney Gonzales & Jess Harman! We’re grateful for the volunteer models and bartenders who made the evening possible. Thanks to the keynote speaker, Louise Doire, for educating attendees on sustainable fashion. Thank you to DJ Moldybrain for the fabulous music, Nordic Cooking for the delicious vegan food, Huriyali for donating organic wine, Freehouse Brewery for supplying organic beer, and Meeting Green for letting us borrow plants. And a special thanks to Charleston Surfrider & the Sustainable Fashion Club for their help in organizing the event.
